Rico started in the real estate business in California more than twenty years ago. A licensed professional with a proven track record of success in residential and commercial sales as well as property management, he is consistently in the Top 100 among outstanding sales agents of Remax of California and Hawaii, Inc. Last year, Rico was conferred the Chairman's Award by Remax, the very first time the Award was introduced, ranking among the top 3% of the region's real estate professionals in productivity. With a high level of personal integrity, Rico has earned the respect of his colleagues and has been honored by his peers in the industry. He specializes in assisting foreign nationals and investors acquire and sell real estate in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has established several limited partnerships and corporate entities to structure his property management activities. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the Ateneo de Manila University. Rico and his wife and son live in Hillsborough, CA. |
Rene Encarnacion, Director
Rene brings an operations and finance background to BahayCo. He worked for 14 years as a corporate and media banker in NewYork before going back to the Philippines in 1998. He joined the Lopez Group's Bayan Telecommunications Holdings Corp. where he handled Treasury and eventually headed the Finance function. He moved to ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. in 2001, becoming Managing Director of ABS-CBN Global Ltd. to oversee distribution of The Filipino Channel worldwide. He and his wife have been actively involved in Filipino community and cultural activities while living in New Jersey and since moving to California. Rene has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the Philippines and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He lives in San Mateo, CA, with his wife and four sons. |
Berna Filart, General Manager
Berna heads the MetroManila-based operation involved directly in purchasing and funding the acquisition of properties in the Philippines. She has a general management background with particular competency in computer programs and software development. She was most recently the General Manager of CyberStateU.com Philippines, a partnership with US providers for distribution of educational content over the Internet. Prior to this, she held management positions in the marketing, customer service, and billing systems groups of Pilipino Telephone Corp., the cellular telephone arm of PLDT. Berna has also spent 5 years in the US working in computer retail distribution and at an entrepreneurial IT equipment trading business. She started her professional career with Ayala Investment and Development Corp. Berna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the Ateneo de Manila University. |
Odette Perlada, Marketing
Odette handles the marketing functions for the Manila office of BahayCo; gives advice to overseas clients regarding locations, payment options and other buyer concerns regarding properties in the Philippines. Having lived abroad with her family for almost 5 years, Odette has had extensive experience dealing with overseas Filipinos. Prior to relocating abroad, Odette worked for 8 years with the corporate planning department of the Philippine National Oil Company, handling the geothermal, coal and petroleum subsidiaries on various occasions. She started her work experience with the economic research department of an investment house based in Makati. Odette graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics and obtained an MBA also from U.P. She presently resides with her husband and three children in Pasig City, Metro Manila. |
Lala Barretto, Customer Service
Lala handles the property management and marketing functions for ARBI Properties in California. She is in charge of liaising directly with BahayCo customers in the U.S. for document requirements, remittances and sending out of marketing materials related to Philippine properties. Born and raised in Bacolod City, Lala graduated with a degree in Business Management from the University of St. La Salle, in 1998 among the Dean’s List. She worked with the Marketing Department of a bank in Bacolod before moving to Manila, where she continued to hone her work experience as a Marketing Manager for a fitness club, while managing a family-owned production company specializing in talents and events management. Since then, Lala has been a resident of San Francisco, together with her husband.
